WHAT’S HAPPENING IN AND AROUND GRANDMONT ROSEDALE

BUY MICHIGAN AT THE FARMERS’ MARKET, SUMMER IN THE CITY COMES TO GRANDMONT ROSEDALE, AND MORE!

IT’S BUY MICHIGAN WEEK – COME TO THE NORTHWEST DETROIT FARMERS’ MARKET! Governor Granholm has declared this week is BUY MICHIGAN WEEK, a campaign designed to promote and showcase Michigan-based companies and Michigan-made products.”It’s always BUY MICHIGAN WEEK at the Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market,” commented Market Master Pam Weinstein. “Our market is limited to locally-grown produce and locally-made products — we have always emphasized keeping our dollars here in the local economy. Local food tastes better and is healthier, too,” she added. Most produce sold at the market was picked the morning of the day it is sold, like these fresh greens grown by the Brightmoor Youth Garden.EVERYONE’S INVITED – Open every Thursday from 4-8 PM, now through October 15, the Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market features locally grown produce, baked goods, fresh bread, fair-trade coffee, seafood, and meats that are free of antibiotics and hormones. “We invite everyone to come to the south parking lot of Bushnell Church, 15000 Southfield Freeway, to buy fresh, local, delicious food,” said Weinstein.

NOW ACCEPTING PLASTIC: New this season, the Northwest Detroit Farmers’ Market can accept your credit, debit and Bridge cards for purchases from all vendors. Check at the Market Central booth for details.
